Once an insurance company’s physician performs a peer review or IME, the question of medical necessity does not immediately end. A patient’s treating physician can challenge the peer review or IME by writing a rebuttal. Rebuttals raise an issue of fact as to whether services rendered were medically necessary, and thus increase the treating physician’s likelihood of success in litigating the denied claims. Our team prepares the Rebuttals based on the available medical records and makes sure to comprehensively understand the bases of denials by analyzing IME's, Peer Reviews, and other relevant documents. We make sure to draft the Rebuttal that is supplemented with research to justify the points put forth.
